Engagement in the Arts

Participation is a key element of the Out There Festival, and from evaluation young people were identified as a priority audience development group.  To engage with youth audiences festival organisers, Seachange Arts, integrated a youth friendly programme and community engagement work to appeal to young people.

Home Grown seeks to increase the number and range of people engaging in the arts across Suffolk, by inspiring and equipping local people and groups to become active, ambitious, skilled arts promoters in rural communities and urban neighbourhoods.

Explore Culture is a campaign to promote greater participation in the arts across Essex.  Essex’s target is to increase the percentage of adults participating from 43.5% to 46.5% by 2010. Importantly the campaign aims to make sure that when adults participate in the arts, they are aware of it!
