Putting People First - Culture and Sports contribution to delivering better outcomes for Adult Social Care

Background and Presentations

The aim of the event was to:

  • increase understanding of the adult social care challenge amongst culture and sport managers
  • highlight the role culture and sport can play in helping deliver better outcomes
  • bring providers and commissioners together to develop solutions

Overall the event content was well received:

95% of delegates who responded to the question ‘Did the conference fulfil your reason for attending?’ stated it had in full

100% agreed that the event had a well structured programme, providing quality speakers and stimulating workshops

96% of delegates agreed that the event had increased their understanding of the role culture and sport can play in helping to deliver better outcomes

96% felt that they could apply the information provided in practice

Whilst 81% of delegates felt they had made cross-sector connections, feedback illustrates the importance of following up this initial event with additional activity. Over the coming months the Culture First Improvement Managers in each area will be planning local events to build momentum, help forge collaboration and encourage joint strategic commissioning.

Enabling and empowering disabled people to take part in the sport and leisure activities of their choice - Colin Poole, Optua Leisure Services

Fit Together

Helping to prevent long term conditions and isolation in the elderly through activity - Nick Clarke, Active Norfolk/NHS Norfolk
